Review: Coast to Coast Invigorating Shampoo
If there is ever a time I can say that a shampoo made a difference, this is definitely one of them. For women like me who have normal hair, but experience oily scalp or greasy hair roots if left unwashed overnight, this shampoo is a must buy. End of story.
Made from native botanical herbal extracts and essential oils, this Australian shampoo has been specially formulated for normal and oily hair. My hair is of fairly normal condition. But like most Asians living in a topical climate, if my hair is left unwashed overnight hair greasy starts to show at the roots. If this sounds like your kinda hair, read on. After one week of use, this shampoo works like a miracle wonder.
It is stated on the brand’s website that “When you smell, touch and experience the results of Coast To Coast products, you will see our soul laid bare”. Took the words right out of my mouth. Its distinct refreshing earthy scent reminds me of what it would smell like if stood in the middle of the Amazon forest in the early morning hours. Ah! The wondrous smell of morning dew, wet moss and earth.
From the ingredients listing, it is formulated with lavender, sandalwood, tea tree, lilly pilly and rosalina. Lavender and sandalwood oil have antiseptic and nerve-soothing properties that nourish and impart shine and softness to hair. Tea tree, lilly pilly and rosalina have antiviral and antibiotic properties that provide astringent benefits to remove excess sebum. Hair and scalp is left clean, moisturized and conditioned without over-drying.
Super Clean Wash
One pump is good enough. It easily works up a light lather. When I rinse out the shampoo, I run my fingers on my hair along the back of my head and get a nice squeaky sound. I know it sounds crazy but this is one way I test how well a shampoo cleans. You’ll be surprised how many shampoos leave a layer of wax or oil that is difficult to rinse off. Try it for yourself next time.
Given that my hair’s natural texture is straight and limp combined with my round-shaped face, I depend a lot on layered cuts. What this shampoo does well is: it gives an all-round great wash leaving my hair quite lifted and bouncy. My layers are more prominent. Coincidentally, I got a I-like-your-layers hair compliment from a friend this afternoon in art class.
Shine & Softness
After a few months of use, my hair is visibly shinier and softer than what it used to be. I also have less tangles. Even with the healthy shine and softness, my hair still manages to maintain the messy, just-out-of-bed and layered sexy cut (without going limp). Exactly my kinda style.
Coast To Coast Invigorating Shampoo is available at Coast To Coast boutique at United Square and online. $40.80 for 250ml.
