Review: Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser

I am a bit of a scrub addict. When I first try out a new brand of skin care, I often try the scrubs first. I do not know why I do that…I simply just do. It is like the test product for me to gauge the efficacy of the brand.

And in all my scrubbing experience, I have never quite forgotten this amazing sugar scrub by suki. I bought a jar about 5 years back and still the memory lives on.

The name of this sugar scrub says ‘exfoliate foaming cleanser’. I cannot understand how this scrub got this name because nothing foams when used. But as Shakespeare so rightly said ‘What’s in a name? That which we call a rose. By any other name would smell as sweet.’ Simply put, names of things do not matter, only what things are.

And with that, I have to tell you how unforgettable this scrub really is.

First, it is made by suki (with small letter ‘s’). A brand that produces clinically-proven skin care solutions that is 100% synthetic-free. The base used in their skin care products are high-potency nutrient-filled organic and botanic concentrate. Their range of products is made for everyone – men, women, babies, and for all skin types.

Secondly, unbeknownst to me at the time, this scrub happens to be their No.1 Best-Selling Skin Care Product. A rating well-deserved.

Thirdly, it smells unbelievably delicious! Like a truck load of freshly shaved lemongrass right in the bottle, and  mixed with hints of lavender, chamomile and orange peel.

Fourthly, the natural sugar and rice-flour combo make a great exfoliating texture. The sugary content is coarse & sandy from the natural granules, but it gives a good gentle massage while lifting dirt, makeup, dead skin cells, sweat, oil and other gunk off the skin’s surface. You can literally feel it being scrubbed off!

Lastly, after rinsing, my face immediately feels clearer, fresher, smoother and more radiant. It has a nice squeaky clean feel without the tight, stretched sensation of dry skin. And the slight radiant glow I got is not from raw scrubbing, but more like a face that is freshly rinsed, seriously clean and baby smooth. The scent of lemongrass lingers on as well.

I cannot say enough positives about this sugar scrub. It is vegan too! You have got to try it to know what I am raving about.

Perhaps then, you will also agree that whatever the name this sugar scrub goes by, who cares.
