Review: Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil

Pai is a London-based skincare company with premium organic solutions for sensitive skin. Its products are made for people with sensitive skin, by people with sensitive skin. With an extensive list of award-winning products, one of its biggest star is Pai’s Rosehip BioReGenerate Oil. Labeled by Harper’s Bazaar magazine as the Best Organic Miracle Worker in 2011, this is allegedly the most concentrated organic rosehip oil available in the market today.

Suitable for all skin types; but most beneficial for hyper-pigmentation and post-acne scarred skin. This facial oil has the natural benefits of retinol like improving skin firmness and elasticity without the nasty effects of redness and irritation; making it the natural alternative to synthetic retinols.

Watch the video below on Pai’s signature award-winning Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil from its founder, Sandra Brown:

What is in this bottle is a 99% organically produced blend of extracted fruit and seed oil from andean rosehip plant. When applied, the oil delivers concentrated trans-retinoic acid directly to the epidermis layer of the skin. It immediately converts to vitamin A, also commonly known as retinol, to boost the skin’s healing abilities. Pai Rosehip BioReGenerate Oil also contains vitamin E derived from sunflowers to help reduce photo-ageing effects of UV on the skin. The deep orange color is due to the presence of rich cartenoids – antioxidants, that are five times more powerful than regular cold-pressed rosehip oils.

How to use: Only use at night. Rosehip oil is photosensitive and should not be exposed to sunlight. It is a pure oil product so you do not need much on your skin. Apply 1-2 drops after cleansing and massage or pat on skin. That’s it. For an intensive skin conditioning boost, blend 1-2 drops of oil with a few pumps of moisturizer.

I have been using this oil for a few weeks and have not had one oil-clogged pore, something I expected due to the oil’s oiliness. It has a very strong nutty scent. My experience is the oil does not completely soak into the skin. I still feel a slight layer of oil but it does not bother me because it is a nourishing feel, rather than a thick greasy layer that just sits on the surface of the skin. The next morning, my skin feels comfortable with an overall natural luminosity and healthy glow.

This facial oil comes in a matte glass bottle with a printed best before date (about 2 years shelf life) and a dropper applicator to help control the amount of drops per use. Honestly, 1-2 drops is really all you need each time. According to one beauty reviewer, one bottle can last her up to 8 months of daily use!

All organic ingredients in this product is sustainably grown without use of pesticides, not extracted with chemical solvents, have passed strict toxicity tests and biodegradability criteria and carry a non-GM certificate. 100% free of parabens, petrochemicals, nano materials, propylene glycol and other irritating and potentially toxic chemicals.

A 30ml bottle cost a reasonable $50 and is available at Pure Tincture located at The Alephi, 1 Coleman Street, #B1-10 (nearest MRT station: City Hall).
