Review: Aesop Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Hydrator

Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Hydrator is the newest member to the Parsley Seed collection. Designed for normal to combination skin, and formulated with concentrated vitamin anti-oxidants, Aesop’s Parsley Seed skin care range is said to be perfect for Asian skin exposed to tropical climate.

The recent media launch was held at a little swanky conceptual retail space called Supermama – a home for designer products from leather-framed giant ceiling light fixtures to fashion jewelry made from recycled car metal. Adding to the wholesome chic atmosphere, Aesop offered a spread of yummy finger foods from soft cheeses, gourmet ham to Aesop’s house wine of the year. Yup, Aesop even bottles its own wine. Who knew.

An uniformly-labeled display of the new moisturizing bottles was surrounded by mini vases filled with fresh stalks of parsley. A simple design accent that gave an instant organic feel.

Aesop’s Parsley Seed Skin Care Collection

Although Aesop does not claim to be an organic or natural skincare brand, all their products are created with a commitment to blend the finest plant-based and lab-made ingredients together – particularly those with the highest natural anti-oxidants.

Presentation by Team Aesop from Hong Kong

After a brand introduction by Aseop’s Marketing heads, we were given a personalized hand demonstration to try the new product.

First, my hand was thoroughly cleansed with Parsley Seed Facial Cleanser to remove surface impurities, i.e. germs, grit and grime collected from my trip on the MRT. Then, Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Facial Toner was used to balance and soothe the skin. It had a nice cooling sensation and smelt like lavender and chamomile.

Finally, one pump of the new Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Hydrator used as a moisturizer.

It spreads out quite watery, almost like fluid lotion than cream. The texture and consistency is light-weight, and  absorbs well when massaged into skin. It smelt like a fine apothecary mix of Cedarwood, Lavender and Bergamot.

When I compared my Aseop-ed hand with my other hand, my hand with the Aesop hydrator was softer and more hydrated. Although the skin’s appearance of the hands looked similar, the difference was evident when felt. And the thing that surprised me was – this difference lasted all day into the evening, even after quite a few hand washes throughout the day.

I cannot wait to add this hydrator to my daily skin care routine!

I was thrilled to receive sample packs of the other pairing Parsley Seed product items. Plus, Aesop’s Mouthwash – their newest product officially launched a few hours ago – in my gift bag!< br />

Retail price is S$85 and available online and at Aesop signature stores and counters from mid-March 2013.
