Review: Korres Coconut Milk Shower Gel & Bodymilk (with Organic Farmed Sweet Almond Oil)

It’s the first day of December, and the start of Christmas shopping (if you haven’t already)!

This year, my favorite natural skincare brand, Korres, has a great collection of Christmas bundles to choose from. I tried the Korres Coconut Oil Collection. This edition’s blend of exotic fresh coconut with warm creamy vanilla and sweet almond oil extract, sourced from organic farming, consist of: a coconut milk shower gel and coconut milk bodymilk.

There are immense health and beauty benefits in the consumption of coconut oil (read here). But if the thought swallowing of a spoonful of pure oil sounds unpleasant to you, then go with application instead.

Another point…do you find it hard to buy a present for a guy? Well, this is a good guy gift because it has a strong and sweet musky scent, and practical for use. It smells suggestively of a cool, relaxing beach holiday *good hint tactic*.

#1: Korres Coconut Milk Shower Gel
With 90.2% natural content, this shower gel comes with an expiry date! It does not contain an extensive list of harmful chemical stuff like parabens, silicons, petrolatum, phthalates and animal-by-products to name a few. Instead, it contains organic herbal extracts of althea root and helichrysum flower, oat proteins are also used to form a protective layer on the skin, maintaining the body’s natural hydration composition.

I expected the usual Coppertone coconut sun-tanning oil scent explosion. Instead, I found this shower gel to smell more of vanilla, with a faint hint of chocolate (weird, I know). It lathers very well, and washes off clean without drying the skin.

#2: Korres Coconut Milk Bodymilk with Almond Oil
This bodymilk contains 92% natural content and has an expiry date. Sourced from organic farming and listed as the third ingredient in this bodymilk, Sweet Almond Oil extract is enriched with active Aloe, provitamin B5 and Shea Butter to boost long-lasting hydration. Again, it is quite strong-scented of vanilla and chocolate, complimenting the shower gel.

The consistency of this body milk is light-weight like a face cream, compared to traditional body lotions that can be quite thick and creamy. It goes on smooth and absorbs into the skin in minutes without leaving an oily layer. My skin was wonderfully softer the next day. Good for people with normal to dry skin, but probably too light for people with dry to seriously dry skin.

Overall Verdict: I would say don’t go by its name of Coconut Milk because I did not get much of a coconut-ty impression. Instead, you like the sweet calming and delicious scent of Vanilla, this is a great collection. I’m not a vanilla-fan so this is not my personal scent of choice. But the efficacy and quality of the products do deliver as promised. And that’s why I  KORRES.

This full-sized collection set is priced at S$44. Available at all Korres outlets in Singapore.

A much-loved brand amongst Hollywood celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Eva Mendes and Victoria Beckham, Korres is a globally responsible and eco-friendly company that uses only recyclable packaging components (PET, PP, PE, ALUMINUM).

If you shop Korres online, there’s more good news – Get 15% off when you purchase 2 or more Christmas sets, or 25% off when you purchase 5 sets and above. Plus, free delivery island-wide. Promotion is valid from November 24 to December 15.
