Review: Avalon Organics Bath & Shower Gel

If you have been looking for organic personal care products, you might be familiar with Avalon Organics. The brand carries an affordable price tag for a wide range of body and hair care products made from essential oils, botanical extracts and other certified organic ingredients. Founded in 1987 from the deep-rooted belief that all beauty comes from nature, there is a lot to love about this American brand.

Avalon Organics is certified to the NSF/ANSI 305 Standard for Personal Care Products Containing Organic Ingredients or the USDA National Organic Program standard. That means it only produces products that are safe, effective and conscious of the greater good. Working with farmers to source and use only certified plant-based organic ingredients, Avalon Organic products are vegan and never test on animals.

I was asked to review the Avalon Organics Bath & Shower Gel, and I have to say, there is nothing I do not like about this. This bath and shower gel is everything you would hope for in a liquid bath soap and more.

Contains more than 70% organic content

One of the biggest selling point is the gentle plant-based formula that contains more than 70%  organic content. This bath and shower gel’s primary ingredients of lavender essential oil, quinoa protein, aloe vera leaf juice and botanical cleansers make a perfect blend in purifying and nourishing the skin. This bath & shower gel is 100% free of parabens, phthalates, generically-modified organisms (GMOs) and harsh sulfates; stated to be made with 100% vegetarian ingredients. Suitable for all skin types, even extra dry skin.

Smells Amazing

Lavender is a popular choice for most skincare products because of its soothing scent. The aroma of lavender is prominent; infused with citrusy notes from lime oil and lemon peel oil. There is an overall sweetness to the woody floral scent. As part of its organic formulation, this shower gel is also 100% free of synthetic color and fragrances.

Superb Lather

This lathers as good as any bath & shower gel on the market shelf. The sugar and coconut-based botanical cleansing agents allow the product to foam easily; and cleanse without leaving a layer of residue. It especially true when using a loofah bath ball. I also like the non-spill, press-down bottle cap because it gives better control on the amount of gel to dispense.

Not Just For Showers

For a hand drawn bath, pour 1/2 ounce (equivalent to 1 tablespoon) or more into lukewarm running water. The good thing about this bath gel is when you are done with your soak, you can simply rinse off. The after effect is super clean and soft skin; unlike other bath salts and gels that dry out the skin or leave a oil-based residue that you have to soap off.

Good quality packaging

All product bottling are made from 100% recycled and biodegradable material. It comes in a decent-sized packaging of 355ml which should last about 3-5 months for one person’s everyday use.

This organic bath and shower gel is affordable priced at S$25.90. I believe it is a must- have in every bathroom.
