2012 Year in Review: Kat’s Worst Products Reviewed

Ever since I posted 2012 Year in Review: Kat’s Best Products Reviewed, I have been getting requests to do a not-so-favorites list. So, here it is.

Five products I reviewed this year that I would throw in the bin, so-to-speak (in no particular order).

#1: Worst Facial Moisturiser: Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream
The name itself is already an oxymoron. Is it a gel or is it a cream? To me, it is more like a watery-gel that is gooey and smells like paper marche starch. There is really nothing positive I can say about this moisturiser.

#2: Worst Deodorant: Crystal Deodorant Body Stick
Honestly, I don’t understand how this rock works. It has gotten lots of rave magazine reviews, and the shop assistant told me it has been flying off the shelves. Well, unfortunately for mine, it flew off the shelf and went straight into the bin.

#3: Worst Exfoliator: Sukin Facial Scrub
This product is just not suitable for my combination skin. The walnut seeds are rough, and the scrub leaves an oily layer behind which defeats the whole purpose of exfoliation. This is cheap, and..for me.. not so good.

#4: Worst Facial Serum: Origins Make A Difference Serum
This serum made no difference for me. Terribly unimpressive. If this serum was a person attending a party, nobody would notice if the person came or went. Not even a fruit fly.

#5: Worst Hair Cream: Phyto 9 Daily Ultra Nourishing Botanical Cream
Total waste of money. How this hair cream can be an award-winning beauty product baffles me. Especially when its from Harper’s Bazaar. How bazaar.

These are just my experiences. Perhaps yours may differ.
